At this time we are fundraising and our goal is to raise $100,000 for our
playground and currently have about $80,000 raised. We are asking local groups and companies to help in our fundraising efforts recognizing each donor at the entrance of our playground.
We have different levels of gifts which will be displayed on a sign - Squirrel
level: $500-1,499, Hawk level: $1,500-$4,999, Bobcat level: $5,000- $14,999 and our Mountain Lion level: $15,000 +. Donors at the Bobcat and Mountain Lion level will be recognized on the park's entrance sign, on our commemorative t-shirts, on public ads with donor's logo and name, and at any public functions we will always announce our donors.
All donations are tax deductible as ICRC is a 501 c(3) and can provide
donors with a receipt with our tax identification number. We are seeking donations in any amount to get our project underway. Please see our brochure for more information outlining all the important aspects of this venture. Please contact me if I may answer any questions you may have about the projects. We thank you for giving us this opportunity to share in this incredible experience!
We are also selling engraved composite fence pickets with your
family's name on it tht will completely surround the playground for $100 each. |

ICRC Focuses on New
Playground Project
By Dawn Sonnier, ICRC Vice President
In June of 2008 ICRC was given a beautiful five acre parcel
in Idyllwild on which to build a Community Center. As part of this long-term project, we are currently in phase one which includes a playground, teen center and public restrooms.
We have hired a professional firm to help us design/build
our playground that will incorporate the essence of Idyllwild and will help manage our "Community-Built" playground. Our goal is to have the majority of our community help build our playground in 5 days with the completed project and Grand Opening on July 4th weekend of 2011. |

At their October 26 regular board meeting the Riverside County Planning
Commission unanimously approved the Conditional Use Permit (CUP) for the Idyllwild Community Recreation Council (ICRC) to move ahead with ICRC's plans to build an 8,000 square foot playground facility at the Idyllwild Community Center site.
ICRC successfully negotiated the process for the CUP with only minor modifications
to their original plans. The Riverside County Building and Safety Department will perform all necessary inspections to ensure the community-built playground conforms to all applicable codes and public standards.
ICRC President Dawn Sonnier said, "I'm elated with the outcome of the Planning
Commission's decision. The ICRC board has worked tirelessly for this project and the community has overwhelmingly supported our efforts for which I am truly grateful."
ICRC has raised just over $100,000 to build a state-of-the-art recreation playground
for Idyllwild that members of the community have expressed a strong need for years. The decision comes too late in the season to begin construction in 2011. Purchase of the equipment and site preparation will commence in the spring of 2012 with a playground build date set for June, 2012.
